About Graduate School of the Environment and Energy

Graduate School of the Environment and Energy was founded in 1990 into three Departments at the beginning with almost 50 postgraduate students. While, this figure is now increased up to 1000 students.

At present the organizational chart of the School consists of four major Departments, which are responsible for the school education and research activities. The Departments are as follows:

Periodicals and Journals

The Graduate School of the Environment and Energy has three journals and a news outlet. One of the journals is as an international English journal which is granted the grade of science and research for publication by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in Iran. This journal is also indexed and abstracted by Asian Citation Index (ASCI) and is trying to be indexed by ISI.

Currently, the School has some fifty members, which are involved in the education and research activities.
During the last fifteen years the School along with the CEERS has played significant roles in changing the attitudes of the people, authorities, decision-makers and other experts towards environmental issues. The shaping of the first NGOs in Iran such the Iranian Society of Environmentalists, Energy Economics, Women for the Environment, etc. was initiated or facilitated by the School. In fact the establishment of the School was a turning point in environment and has now became the focal point of all kinds of environmental activities from the grass root level of public awareness to the professional level of research and education.
